since HR is kind of unclear function in the company for most of u,...i'm gonna put some notes here to let u know more about it & share ur opinions we we start working on the company establishment....!!

Human Resources Management (HMR)
(AKA: Personnel Management / People Management / Talent Management )

Human resource management is responsible for how people are treated in organizations. It is responsible for bringing people into the organization, helping them perform their work, compensating them for their labors, and solving problems that arise

HR 7 Functions

1- Staffing
2- Performance Appraisal
3- Compensation and Benefits
4- Training and Development
5- Employee and Labor Relations
6- Safety and Health
7- Human Resource Research

through the sessions we went through some of the previous functions in some details as;

the HR department is mainly responsible for:

hiring ppl,....setting the hierarchy of the company,...preparing the job description for the positions in the company,...making initial interviews,....coordinating between employees & managers in case of critical problems,....keeping the profiles of each employee.....etc.

as for Training and Development:
{training(short term) & development(long term)}

* performing frequent needs assessment for each employee on which the learning programs r based (Gap analysis between how the employee is now & how he should b & what skills -whether technical , managerial or soft - he should gain to improve performance )

as for Performance Appraisal (management)

Performance appraisal is a formal system of measuring, evaluating, and influencing an employee’s job-related attributes, behaviors and outcomes.

The objective is to determine how productive an employee is and how employee’s productivity can be improved.

here the employee (officially annually) evaluates his previous year performance & specify next year objectives that will be appraised after a year,...the manager evaluate him as well,......both of them discuss with the aim of:

Performance improvement
Training & development needs assessment
Career planning

as for Compensation and Benefits

Compensation (payment in the form of hourly wages or annual salaries) Benefits (insurance, pensions, vacation, sick days, stock options, etc.)

here the HR department puts the policy of Compensation and Benefits according to the company & the market conditions & to keep talents & significant employees


1-HR is not a functional department,...i.e: some companies can stand without it if they have the internal system to achieve all the previous functions, it's kind of a help to managers & employees & kind of organization ....!!!

2-those r just points about HR , r the presentations if any1 wanna have a look on them...!!
